Additional Info: Ths is a mass start descent race with a difference, having both upstream and downstream elements to the course. It goes upstream for the first 7km, turns for a 10 .5Km downstream section that includes 3 weir shoots, before turning back upstream again for the last 3.5km leg back to the start finish line. There are 3 portages on the course, the first at 4 km, portaging out of the old mill stream and back into the main river to get past Alveston back weir (weir shoot on the way back downstream). The second acts as the bottom turn immediately after shooting Weir Brake Weir, portage the lock and head back upstream the 500m to Straford lock. After portaging strtaford lock its 3km back to the start/finish line
