River Grade & Hazards: The Harefield Wild Water Race takes place on Grade 1–2 water, with conditions that can change depending on levels and flow from Harefield Weir. The course includes a fast-moving section immediately below the weir, a tight 90-degree bend under the road bridge, and a sprint finish to the white footbridge. Hanging slalom gates may also be present as part of the site infrastructure, and competitors should be aware of occasional powered craft using the canal.

Additional Info: The Harefield Wild Water Race 2025 is fast, fun, and open to everyone. With a mix of flowing water, technical bends, and a sprint finish, the course offers both challenge and opportunity — perfect for testing yourself, trying new boats, and racing alongside friends.

Paddlers are encouraged to enter across as many classes as possible — from K1s and C1s to C2s, and even Team Racing! Build your dream team of three and power down the course together, or switch between boats to sharpen different skills. Whether you’re a newcomer looking for experience or an athlete chasing speed, Harefield is a development opportunity not to miss.
